How We Work

We know that getting work done on your roof or building can feel like a big undertaking. Our job is to make the process as straightforward and stress-free as possible - from your very first enquiry through to the day we pack up and hand the project back to you.

Here is exactly what working with VIC Metal Roofing looks like, step by step.

Step 1

Get in Touch

  • Leave us an enquiry online, give us a call, or send a message directly to Ben or Alex. Tell us a bit about your project - what type of building it is, roughly where you are located, and what you are looking to get done.

  • There is no obligation at this stage. We are happy to have a quick conversation to help you work out whether we are the right fit for your project.

  • You can reach Ben or Alex directly - you will speak to someone who knows roofing, not a call centre.

Step 2

We Arrange a Site Inspection

  • Once we understand your project, we will arrange a time to visit your site. For commercial and industrial projects this is always a physical inspection - we need to see the building, the access conditions, the existing roof or wall structure, and any specific site considerations before we can give you an accurate quote.

  • For residential projects we can often provide a preliminary estimate from photos and measurements, with a full inspection prior to commencement.

  • We come to you. The site inspection is obligation-free and at no cost to you.

Step 3

We Discuss Your Project

  • During or after the inspection, we walk you through what we have found and what we recommend. This is the conversation where we cover:

  • Material options - profiles, colours, and products suited to your building and budget

  • Scope of work - exactly what is included and what is not

  • Staging and timing - how we plan to sequence the work to minimise disruption to your operations or household

  • Any compliance considerations - asbestos, WorkSafe requirements, council permits where applicable

  • If you have questions, this is the time to ask them. We would rather spend an extra hour getting clarity upfront than have surprises mid-project.

Step 4

You Receive a Detailed Written Quote

  • We prepare a written, itemised quote that clearly sets out the full scope of work, the materials to be used (including brands, profiles, and colours), labour, any scaffolding or access equipment, roof plumbing, and the project timeline.

  • No lump sums. No vague line items. You should be able to read our quote and know exactly what you are paying for and why.

  • We do not believe in low-ball quotes that blow out once work starts. Our quotes reflect the real cost of doing the job properly.

Step 5

We Sign the Contract

  • Once you are happy with the quote, we formalise the agreement in writing. The contract confirms the scope, price, timeline, payment schedule, and warranty terms.

  • For commercial projects this also includes our Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) and any WorkSafe notification documentation required before work can commence.

  • Everything in writing. No handshake deals.

Step 6

We Start Your Project

  • Our team arrives on the agreed start date, fully equipped and ready to work. You will have a named point of contact - Ben or Alex - throughout the project. If anything comes up during works, you hear about it directly and promptly, not after the fact.

  • We manage all site safety, material deliveries, waste removal, and trade coordination. Our job is to keep the project moving efficiently while keeping disruption to your building and your operations to a minimum.

Step 7

Completion, Inspection & Handover

  • When the work is done, we conduct a final inspection of the completed installation before we consider the job finished. We check every detail - panel alignment, flashings, gutters, fasteners, and site cleanliness.

  • You receive your warranty documentation, any compliance certificates (including asbestos clearance certificates where applicable), and a clean site. Then we are done - until you need us again.
